Welcome to the Becoming a Climate Change Educator Toolkit!

This toolkit was designed for formal and nonformal educators from all subject areas and grade levels who are new to teaching climate change, although there are certainly activities and tips that may interest seasoned climate change educators.

Throughout the toolkit, you will see questions answered with research-based facts, and we will also provide time for personal reflection so that you can make connections to how climate change intersects with your own life and the lives of your students.

This toolkit can support you as a back-pocket resource for planning lessons. Use it to answer underlying questions you may have; look up words and phrases you’re uncertain about; find resources and activities to help you organize a lesson or lead an activity with students; and build your confidence that you can teach about climate change!
