This lesson introduces middle- to high- school students to green careers—careers that focus on advancing sustainability, addressing environmental challenges, and mitigating the impacts of climate change. The lesson introduces students to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and students explore connections to their individual values and interests. They identify and brainstorm careers—including careers that are not typically considered green—that can promote sustainable development. Students then choose a green career to research as a starting point for their green career exploration, as they develop a possible roadmap for contributing to a sustainable future.
