Sustainable Intelligence Lesson Matrix (download for best use)

This lesson begins by having students share what they know about sustainable transportation and consider the impact of our current transportation systems on aspects of our lives such as our health and the environment. Students are introduced to elements of a transportation system, including safety, cost, convenience, user experience, congestion, and environmental impact, as well as the need for infrastructure to promote sustainable transportation. Students then apply what they have learned about sustainable transportation by taking on the role of urban planners to redesign a busy street in their community, aiming to improve accessibility and advance environmental justice.
